Text: Psalm 33

“OUR SOUL WAITS FOR THE LORD”

(I) FAITH IN THE WORD OF GOD

1. The Word of the Lord is right (Psalm 33:4a)

2. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made (Psalm 33:6a)

3. He spoke and it was done (Psalm 33:9)

4. The counsel of the Lord stands forever (Psalm 33:11)

(II) FAITH IN THE LORD HIMSELF

1. Faith is standing in Awe of God As Creator

a) Creator of the heaven and earth (Psalm 33:6-7)

a) He fashions their heart individually (Psalm 33:15)

“Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him” Psalm 33:8

2. Faith is Rejoicing in the special relationship we have with God

a) Chosen as His own inheritance (Psalm 33:12b)

b) Fashioned individually (Psalm 33:15)

c) God’s eye on those who fear Him (Psalm 33:18a)

“Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous!
For praise from the upright is beautiful” Psalm 33:1

(III) FAITH FURTHER EXPRESSED IN WAITING ON THE LORD

1. Waiting on the Lord for His Help (Psalm 33:20a)

2. Waiting on the Lord as our defense (Psalm 33:20b)

3. Waiting on the Lord in joyful trust (Psalm 33:21a)

4. Waiting on the Lord’s mercy to be given (Psalm 33:22)
