CHURCH FAMILY CAMP

Theme: Rightly Dividing the Word

HOW IMPORTANT IS THE MINISTRY OF FAMILY CAMP?

In the assessment of the Camp Committee, the ministry of Family Camp is of great importance! Here are some reasons why Family Camps are planned each year!

1. Discovery Of New Truths About God And Our Faith In Him

Each year many new and deep truths of God are discovered through a deep searching of the Scriptures! There are so many wonderful things to learn about the Lord through the diligent study of God's word!

2. Some Ramifications Of Time Set Apart To Study The Scriptures Prayerfully

  1. Faith is revived.
  2. Faith is strengthened!
  3. Relationship with God is deepened.

3. Addressing Spiritual Danger

  1. There is grave danger of backsliding.
  2. There is also the danger of spiritual stagnation.
  3. There is a very real danger of ending up forsaking our faith in God.

The Family Camp seeks to address these things! Let us encourage many more to sign up for the Camp!

Dear Pastor,

My family and I would like to express our thanks and gratitude to the session members and everyone at Bethany who turned up to offer their condolences and words of comfort. It was especially meaningful for us that so many church members turned up to comfort and support us in our time of grief and loss. We are truly fortunate to be part of Bethany and to have such caring friends and members who made the effort to be with us during this time. We are also very thankful for the many offers of help and assistance that were extended to us. No words can fully express our gratitude for such kindness and consideration.

A quorum is needed to convene these ACMs! Let all Church members exercise welcomed responsibility in attending the ACMs! The Lord has blessed us for yet another year! Despite problems related to recession, we have been able to serve without financial hitches! Let us use the ACMs as another opportunity to glorify the Lord!

POETRY CORNER

HAND IN HAND WITH JESUS

I walked on the billows with Jesus
And knew no fear of the sea;
Though waves of temptations surrounded,
His grace was sufficient for me.

The spray touched my lips and my garments,
'Twould never have caused me harm.
But the way seemed so rough and so endless
My peace gave way to alarm.

When I should have counted my blessings,
I counted my burdens each day.
And my eyes grew weary with weeping,
My heart too discouraged to pray.

Almost I had sunk 'neath the waters,
When I turned my eyes above
And saw my Saviour was smiling,
His eyes were tender with love.

I knew then that He had not forsaken;
"Save me, Lord Jesus!" I cried.
How quickly His arms were around me,
I walked again at His side!

Though the waves are still all around me,
The sea is still at my feet;
I walk hand in hand with my Saviour,
And now the path has grown sweet.

No longer do doubts fill my being
As I walk along with my Lord;
When I reach the ship with my Saviour,
The winds shall cease at His word.
